Spotted Lanternfly
The Spotted Lanternfly is actually a plant hopper native to China, Vietnam, and India. It was first discovered in Berks County PA in 2014 and has since spread to other surrounding counties. The Lanternfly is an invasive species and can tremendously impact agricultural crops such as grapes, hops, fruit trees, ornamentals, and many hardwoods (over 70+ species).
Spotted Lanternfly can be controlled by physical removal as well as pesticide applications.
